Resilience

As a nation, we owe a debt of gratitude to our military veteran heroes and their families for their unmistakable courage and sacrifices. Command Sergeant Major, US Army Retired Sa’eed Mustafa is also one of those who committed his life as he served to protect our country and fight for freedom both here and across the globe.

In that light he founded an exceptional annual suicide awareness and prevention event called the Veterans’ Resiliency All White Affair. He selected Veterans who were recommended by their community from across the USA to present them this Resilience Award, awarded to someone who demonstrated resilience throughout their transition to civilian life and is a model of overcoming adversity.

The event also matched Veterans with a sponsor in their community or a previous award recipient to help them navigate civilian life. These efforts have created a sense of camaraderie in the Veteran Community that was once only experienced will serving in uniform. Everyone wears white attire to remember the Veterans who were loss to suicide.

This event was recognized in 2018 & 2019 by United States Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, New York State Senator James Skoufis, New York State Assemblyman Colin Schmit and Orange County Legislator Laurie Tautel.
