The Journey to

Becoming a Writer

Throughout my 30 year military career I served around the world side by side with bonafide American Hero’s. I’ve also served with some incredible human beings from many other countries. Once I finally retired I knew there was a book inside me waiting to come out. The inspiration and sense of urgency came once I spoke to my battle buddy and close friend, Sergeant Major US Army Retired Keith L. Craig, during the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic.  He had just published his book, Serving To Lead, and dedicated it to essential workers, like his brother David Dock, and my two daughters Halima and Ameera. He and I had a conversation about how similar the fight against the virus was in comparison to many battles we were in during our days in the military; and how similarly folks who were on the frontline risking their lives were the hero’s. I decided on that day I needed to complete my book, and not just for military members dealing with stress an anxiety during their transition to civilian life; but also for the first responders and essential workers who were under an enormous amount of stress. My heart goes out to all of you who have endured so many sacrifices. I hope you will get my book, Resilient Transition, on Amazon today. You will find that my methods of combating the feelings of stress and anxiety through the use of music, meditation and positive mindset may be very helpful to you and your loved ones during these difficult times.
